TODAS LAS COSAS BONITAS
L’HOTEL DE SAUROY, PARIS
2023

TODAS LAS COSAS BONITAS has been a decade long project that began unconsciously from my personal travel diaries. Having lived thousands of kilometers far from México for more than a third of my life, I started noticing that no matter where I was I kept looking for home by photographing the same scenes whether in Europe, Asia or the Middle East

After going through a decade of film I began wondering why do we travel? What does home mean? Where I see "casa", what do others see?

This series is an ode to the scents, the color, the light, the surrealism, the humor, the kitsch and well, the plastic, that manage to bring me back to México until I get to visit home again.

PLAYATEPEC
CLUB MOPASA, CDMX
2024

In Playatepec (2024) Alejandra Hauser obsessively collects marine representations in the city. She examines the human fixation of possessing and understanding, through images or souvenirs, the distant and the unknown.

Setting up the work as a souvenir shop and moved by nostalgia, she seeks to preserve, with both a pop and poetic language, a graphic world that is becoming extinct day by day. Confronting art with mass production, Hauser reflects on the sentimental value given to objects made in China and our memories associated with them.
